We are paid to have an opinion

Recently, I was asked to listen in two presentations. Both are about whether to expand the scope of two pilot project for corporate reporting services.

What is interesting is that, at the end the presentation, neither project leaders want to state their final thoughts. Maybe it is because audience of both presentations are director level, maybe it is because the pilots are mainly for reseach purposes. The reason could be in millions.

My point? We are paid to have an opinion! For me, a presentation is useless only it has two things: action items and the recommendation.
