Jan 1, 2006 is not a good date for me. I got rejected by the custom officer at the Vancouver border, when renewing my TN visa. It is my fault, I do not have the all the documents. (oh, software engineers are not engineers, by their definitions)
However,what makes angry is the attitude of those custom officers. Cold and intimidating, definitely not warm. Some words are actually insulting. I guess Bill Gates would have the same experience when passing to the Canadian border.
I am sure these people, when in private, do not behave that way. This is part of their training and their job. Just like career requires certain personality, career also develops one’s personality. In some cases, in a bad way.
Considering my own career, how much of my personality is being shaped by my career?
