Identity 2.0 and http://opinity.com/

Find a very powerful presentation of Identity 2.0. Nothing beats the cool beer except a wonderful speaker and an interesting topic.

I am particularly interested in Identity 2.0 because I have multiple personality syndrome, at least online. I assume at least ten different email address, hold accounts on tons of websites and using quite a few IM identities.

Opinity.com is a company that tries to construct more complete profile for any person. Right now, it is focusing more on eBay and Amazon. However, I need to provide my password to use their services.

No that I want this way. But this is driving me crazy. Keeping track of passwords is already a major headache for me. And I don’t really trust the "Save Password" features.

I hope Identity 2.0 and Opinity have the right technology or vision to solve this problem. In the most basic form, it should at least provide single sign-on capabilities to us. However, I vaguely recall Microsoft Passport had tried to crack this nut and failed. And, in PC or Mainframe, single sign-on is still a dream that needs to be come true.

A more technical note, since "token" mechanism is more of a standard way for allowing third-parties to access customer data. I believe there are more to do to standardize or open-source "token" process so that all applications (online or offline) can work together.

Hey! at least I have a good time viewing that wonderful presentation.
